Katie Marshall is a 2nd year MFA student at Cal State Long Beach. Prior to this she studied Russian Literature and worked as a translator for a university based in St. Petersburg.

I am interested in the collisions that occur between two great American traditions: mass consumer culture and apocalyptic religious fervor. My work explores the slippery nature of signage and systems of meaning, reproduction and dissemination as both metaphor and propaganda strategy, and the aesthetics of religious print ephemera.
